PIRACY IN CHINA WATERS.

(Note by the Secreta y).

The Colonial Office have referred to the Oversea

Defence Committee for consideration as a matter of

urgency the attached telegram from the Officer

Administering the Government of Hong long on the

question of anti-piracy measures to be taken by the

shipping companies after the 31st March next,

A meeting to consider this question will take

place at No. 2, Whitehall Gardens, S. W, 1,, on Monday,

3rd March, 1930, at 3.15. p.m.

3, The Board of Trade have been asked to send

a representative, and Sir William Peel, the new Governor

of Hong Long, is also being invited.
